Health Tip: Spread Awareness of the Opioid Epidemic
By LadyLively on November 14, 2017
The number of overdose deaths from prescription and illegal opioid drugs has more than quadrupled since 1999, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says.
You can do your part to help reverse the trend by alerting others to the dangers of these drugs, and helping them avoid becoming addicted in the first place, the CDC says.
The agency suggests:
- Learning more about opioids so you can help protect those in your community who are most at risk for opioid abuse.
- Spreading information to increase awareness of the dangers of opioid abuse, addiction and overdose.
- Assisting those who abuse opioids in finding care and treatment.
