Health Tip: Think You Have a Broken Toe?
By LadyLively on November 15, 2018
If you think you may have broken a toe, it’s time to see a doctor, even if you can walk on it.
Failure to promptly treat a toe fracture may lead to a permanent deformity, arthritis and chronic pain, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons warns.
The organization offers these common symptoms of a broken toe:
- You hear a cracking or popping sound at the time of the injury.
- Sharp pain at the point of impact.
- Crooked or abnormal appearance of the toe.
- Bruising and swelling the next day.
