Health Tip: Rake Leaves Safely
By LadyLively on September 22, 2015
Raking leaves is not only a fall necessity, it’s a great way to burn calories. So don’t forget to prepare your body for the pending workout.
The AARP website recommends:
- Layer clothing so you can remove a layer at a time as you get warmer.
- Warm up before raking. Light stretching and walking should do the trick.
- Practice good posture as you rake, keeping your body straight and tall.
- Go slowly, take breaks and drink plenty of water.
