Health Tip: Sleep Well on Vacation
By LadyLively on January 5, 2016
While vacation is supposed to be a time to rest up, busy schedules and being away from home can interfere with sleep.
The National Sleep Foundation recommends:
- Avoid making significant changes to your sleep schedule, such as staying up late.
- Don’t eat a large, heavy dinner. If you opt for a late dinner, eat a larger lunch and keep dinner light.
- Avoid drinking too much alcohol. If you do drink, have just one or two, and enjoy them well before bedtime.
- Make your bed away from home more comfortable. Pack some ear plugs, a sleep mask and something from home, such as lavender spray or a white noise machine.
