Chronic excessive drinking can take a major toll on your health.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention mentions these possible examples:
- Increased likelihood of high blood pressure, liver disease, heart disease and stroke.
- Increased risk of certain cancers, including those of the esophagus, throat, mouth, breast, liver and colon.
- Reduced performance in school, and increased likelihood of dementia and other problems with memory and learning.
- Increased risk of anxiety and depression.
- Increased risk of alcohol dependency.
