Health Tip: Making End-of-Life Wishes Known
By LadyLively on September 26, 2017
Advanced directives are legal documents that dictate end-of-life wishes.
Written properly, they make clear which treatments/procedures you want and don’t want.
The U.S. National Cancer Institute suggests this information may be included in your advanced directives:
- Whether you approve use of medical technology, such as dialysis or a breathing machine.
- Whether you want doctors to attempt resuscitation if breathing or heartbeat stops.
- Whether you support use of a feeding tube.
- Whether you support organ or tissue donation.
