Though baby teeth are only temporary, they’re still important and need proper care.
The American Dental Association says baby teeth:
- Help the young child with chewing, speech and smiling.
- Provide space for permanent teeth to eventually grow.
- Prevent permanent teeth from emerging too early, which could lead to misalignment and crowding.
