The American Dental Association’s Mouthhealthy.org website explains these possible causes of sensitive teeth:
- Having a cavity or tooth decay.
- Developing a tooth fracture.
- Having a worn filling.
- Having worn tooth enamel.
- Having gum disease.
- Having an exposed dental root.
