Health Tip: Avoiding Gluten in Medication
By LadyLively on March 30, 2018
If you are allergic or intolerant to gluten, even a small amount can trigger a reaction.
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics warns that some over-the-counter and prescription meds contain gluten, and probably should be avoided by people who are sensitive to the substance.
Here’s what the academy suggests:
- Carefully read the ingredients on all of your meds.
- Speak to your doctor about your gluten sensitivity.
- Ask your pharmacist to double check the ingredients on any meds you are picking up.
