Health Tip: Helping Your Child Choose a Sport
By LadyLively on March 1, 2016
Sports are a great way for your child to learn important life lessons and team spirit, and to get some exercise.
The American Academy of Pediatrics offers these suggestions:
- Figure out what your child wants to accomplish from participating in a sport.
- Determine your child’s strengths and capabilities, and look for a sport that is a good fit. Choose something your child enjoys and is excited about.
- Ask your child why he or she wants to play a sport. Is it simply to have fun, or more to spend time with friends?
