Health Tip: Want to Try Raw Milk?
By LadyLively on March 18, 2016
You may be interested in trying raw milk that has not been pasteurized. But the pasteurization process kills bacteria and other germs, so avoiding pasteurization does come with potential risks.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says:
- Raw milk may contain germs that can cause illness, including stomach cramps and diarrhea.
- People with compromised immune systems, including the elderly and young children, are at greatest risk of getting sick from raw milk.
- You can get beneficial bacteria in safer foods, such as yogurt.
