Health Tip: Your Child’s Bowel Function
By LadyLively on August 25, 2015

Every child has different bowel habits, but certain signs may indicate a medical problem.
The University of Michigan Health System says parents should visit a doctor if:
- The child is constipated for longer than a week, or the child’s bowel movements are painful and require more than normal pushing.
- The child has blood in the stool, or has hemorrhoids.
- The child has a leaking soft stool between bowel movements.
- The child is vomiting or has a swollen belly.
