Health Tip: Did You Bruise a Muscle?

Most of the time, a bruised muscle isn’t a serious injury. But it can be a painful nuisance, especially among athletes and others who exercise frequently.
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons says common symptoms of a muscle bruise include:
- Pain and swelling of the muscle.
- Reduced range of motion.
- Blue discoloration of the skin.
- Muscle stiffness and weakness.
