Health Tip: Help Keep Back Pain at Bay
By LadyLively on June 4, 2014
Everyone has back pain at some point, and it’s among the most common reasons for missing work.
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons offers this advice to help protect against back pain:
- Get regular exercise, including activities that strengthen the muscles in your back and abdomen.
- Lift properly, bending at the knees with your back straight, lifting with the legs instead of the back and never bending over to lift something heavy.
- Lose any excess weight.
- Don’t smoke.
- Practice good posture always.
