Children’s bodies are still growing, which can make them more susceptible to overuse injuries as they enjoy sports and physical activity.
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons offers these warning signs of overuse injuries in children:
- Pain that worsens with activity.
- Unexplained swelling.
- Differences in your child’s technique or form when playing a sport.
- Reduced interest in playing a sport or practicing.
