Half of hospitalized COVID patients experience symptoms a year after discharge. Adding more evidence that ‘long COVID’ is a common phenomenon, research out of Wuhan, China, found that while many hospitalized patients did make a slow recovery, about half still suffered at least one symptom a year later. A long-used cholesterol med might help fight severe COVID-19. A small, preliminary study out of Israel found that 14 of 15 hospitalized patients given the cholesterol med fenofibrate (TriCor) were able to be taken off oxygen support within a week of treatment. Read more
