Health Tip: Help Kids Enjoy Technology
By LadyLively on October 21, 2015

Today’s children are growing up in a digital age, which can be tricky for parents to navigate.
The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests:
- Set limits for technology, specifically the Internet. Know what your child is doing, including sites and apps being used and how your child communicates with others.
- Enjoy video games or online learning with your child to stay involved. Be a good example and share in technology together.
- Make sure you have face-to-face conversations with your child. Create times that are technology-free, such as mealtimes.
- Don’t use technology to help kids calm down. If you choose apps and games to help kids learn, make sure they are age-appropriate and offer some benefit.
- Social media and the Internet are a part of your child’s world. If you see warning signs of a problem (such as bullying or inappropriate conversation), step in.
