Health Tip: Switching to a ‘Big Kid’ Bed
By LadyLively on March 24, 2014

It’s a milestone in your child’s young life when he or she transitions to a “big kid” bed.
The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests these tips to make the transition safe and smooth:
- Ask your child to stay in bed until you come back to wake the child in the morning.
- If your child gets out of bed, calmly take the child back to bed and remind the child to stay there. Don’t let the child get into bed with you.
- Praise your child for getting back into bed, then leave the room.
- Offer reassurance by telling the child that you’ll come back to check on him or her while asleep.
