Health Tip: Limit a Young Child’s Media Time
By LadyLively on May 17, 2017
Young children are drawn to the ever-growing number of screens around the home.
But the American Academy of Pediatrics says parents should take steps to limit screen time, noting that too much of it means:
- Kids may have a harder time falling asleep, as they are overstimulated.
- Kids may develop problems with language, attention, thinking and social skills, because they don’t interact as much with other people.
- Kids may become overweight or obese, because they’re spending less time playing.
- Kids may develop behavior problems, as they try to imitate what they see on a screen.
