The American Diabetes Association says healthier gluten-free options include:

- Beans (kidney, black, soy, navy, pinto).
- Buckwheat.
- Corn.
- Flax.
- Gluten-free baked products (made from corn, rice, soy, nut, teff or potato flour).
- Kasha.
- Millet.
- Polenta.
