Health Tip: Make Good Gluten-Free Choices
By LadyLively on October 7, 2015

For people with celiac disease, a gluten-free diet is essential. But for those who don’t have the disease, gluten-free isn’t necessarily better.
The Cleveland Clinic explains:
- A gluten-free diet isn’t a proven way to lose weight. You’re better advised to eat a diet rich in fresh, whole foods and avoid processed fare.
- Some gluten-free foods are more nutritious than others. For example,
an apple — which is naturally gluten free — is better for you than gluten-free cookies. - Gluten-free products may still be high in fat, calories and sugar. Always read food labels.
