Obesity can develop as a result of poor eating habits, inactivity or genetics.
To help prevent obesity, the URMC suggests:
- Work to change your family’s eating habits and activity levels.
- Be a role model for healthy eating and physical activity.
- Limit screen time to less than two hours per day.
- Keep the pantry stocked with healthier snacks.
