Health Tip: Measuring Your Waist
By LadyLively on July 10, 2014

Along with calculating your body-mass index, measuring your waist is a good way to determine if you’re at a healthy weight.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention explains how to measure your waist:
- Wrap a measuring tape around your abdomen, making sure the tape is parallel to the floor.
- Measure your bare abdomen, placing the tape just above your hip bone.
- Fit the measuring tape so it fits snugly without pushing into your skin.
- Exhale and relax, and take the measurement.
