By LadyLively on October 19, 2016
Managing psoriasis means learning all you can about the condition, the American Academy of Dermatology says.
The group suggests:
- Learn as much as you can about psoriasis, including how best to treat it and potential triggers to avoid.
- Exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, maintain a healthy weight, and avoid smoking and drinking.
- Understand your risk of developing psoriatic arthritis, and alert your doctor to the first signs of joint stiffness or discomfort.
- Check your fingernails for signs of psoriatic arthritis, which may include separation, pitting and discoloration.
