Sunburn is more than a short-term discomfort, as it can permanently damage your skin and eyes.
The Mayo Clinic says potential effects of sun exposure include:
- Premature skin aging, including symptoms such as wrinkles, discoloration and sagging skin.
- Skin lesions that may eventually become cancer.
- Damage to the eyes.
