Health Tip: Prevent Dust Allergy Symptoms

Dust is among the most common causes of allergy symptoms. And no matter how clean you are, dust shares your living quarters.

But don’t despair. The American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology says there are things you can do to minimize dust-allergy symptoms:

  • Keep your bedroom as clean and dust-free as possible.
  • Pet dander contributes to dust. If your allergy is severe enough, consider finding a new home for Fido or Fluffy.
  • Encase pillows and mattresses with zip-up protective covers.
  • If your allergist recommends it, install a dehumidifier and limit the amount of carpeting in your home.
