Health Tip: Trimming Calories From Your Dinner Plate
By LadyLively on January 13, 2015
If you want a simple way to cut down on calories, start with some easy substitutions on your dinner plate.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention mentions these options:
- Steam veggies, instead of sauteing them in oil or butter.
- Choose skim or fat-free dairy products (such as ricotta in lasagna), instead of full-fat.
- At a restaurant, choose either a dessert or a cocktail, rather than splurging on both.
- To top your pizza, choose veggies instead of meat. Also opt for a light sprinkle of cheese.
