High intensity interval training involves cardiovascular exercise in short intervals at high intensity.
The American Council on Exercise says benefits may include:
- Improved anaerobic and aerobic fitness.
- Increased sensitivity to insulin, and decreased fasting insulin.
- Reductions in belly fat and fat deposits just beneath the skin.
- Improvements in fitness with less time commitment.
