Health Tip: Eating a Vegetarian Diet

Considering switching to a vegetarian diet?

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics says while you have to take steps to make sure you’re getting enough vitamins and nutrients, “going vegetarian” has been associated with these health benefits:

  • Reduced risk of obesity.
  • Lower blood pressure.
  • Lower risk of heart disease.
  • A tendency to eat fewer calories from fat and reduce overall caloric intake.
