Health Tip: Getting a Massage?
By LadyLively on July 14, 2014

While massage therapy can help ease various aches and pains, it’s not appropriate for everyone.
The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine offers this advice:
- Massage therapy may not be appropriate for all pregnant women. Speak with your doctor if you are pregnant before getting a massage.
- Anyone taking a blood-thinning medication or having a bleeding disorder should avoid forceful or deep tissue massage.
- Don’t perform massage on any skin wound.
- Anyone with cancer should speak to a doctor before having massage therapy on or near the affected area.
