Health Tip: Having Heart Palpitations

Heart palpitations may feel like a fluttering or skipping sensations, or the perception that the heart is beating too quickly.
The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute says possible causes of heart palpitations include:
- Having strong emotions.
- Engaging in rigorous physical activity.
- Taking certain medications, such as decongestants or diet pills.
- Drinking alcohol or caffeine, or consuming nicotine or illegal drugs.
- Having certain medical conditions, such as anemia or thyroid disease.
