Health Tip: Factors That May Lead to Weight Gain
By LadyLively on June 2, 2015
The food you eat may be only one of many factors that influence whether you gain weight.
The U.S. National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases says factors that may contribute to weight gain include:
- Availability of unhealthy food, both at home and at work.
- Family history of weight-control issues.
- A side effect of some medications, such as antidepressants or steroids.
- Feeling sad, stressed or angry can lead to eating when you are not hungry and making poor food choices.
